Swing Out New Hampshire '08
Preparations for Swing Out New Hampshire '08 are moving along, and I hope you can join us at camp in August. I also wanted to let you know that we've confirmed what I feel is the best musical lineup we've ever had.
I'm very excited to announce that The Gordon Webster Trio will again be kicking things off and playing for our opening dance on Wednesday night. Gordon and the trio delighted everyone at the first dance last summer, and this year they will be joined by outstanding jazz and swing vocalist Brianna Thomas!
Perennial SONH favorites Peter Davis and Lindy Hop Heaven are returning for their ninth summer. They will be playing for our main dances on Friday and Sunday nights, and for some of the classes on Saturday and Sunday. The full six piece group will be back again this year.
The Cangelosi Cards, who tore up two of our late night dances last year, are also returning. The Cards are an exceptionally rhythmic and melodic group, and their repertoire spans the roots of jazz, swing and blues. This summer they will be again joined by special guest Gordon Webster on keyboard.
On the DJ front, I'm delighted that Jesse Miner will be returning for his ninth summer to coordinate our DJed music. He will be joined by Rayned Wiles, Bill Borgida, Tomo Tanaka, Manu Smith, Greg Avakian and some great guest DJ's.
Lastly, registrations are coming in at a faster rate than last year (when we sold out), so if you have any friends who are thinking of coming to SONH, please let them know that at this point there is still room at all levels.
Regards,
Mark
